Step 1: Take a look at my work
I paint miniature houses, vehicles, and people, but not actual houses, vehicles, and people. Please take a look at my gallery or my hobby blog for a better idea.
Step 2: The commission
What would you like to have done? They could be models that you currently have, or they can be newly purchased ones, etc. I have access to a few hobby stores that sell mainstream tabletop wargames like Games Workshop, Privateer Press, and Infinity. I would be happy to check for specific models if needed.
Step 3: Read the Terms
Scroll down to find the terms of starting a commission. Staticgrass Creations is based in British Columbia, Canada; so it is subject to Canadian law. All prices are negotiable and are determined on a model-to-model basis. If you plan on entering our work into any contests or competitions, please get our permission first.
Step 4: Contact me
Fill out the contact form, at the bottom of this page. I always welcome questions. If you know what you would like done, have links to pictures for inspiration or whatever might help me envision the theme of your models or army. In the message section, please be as detailed as possible for the most accurate quote. Include the name of the models (company name if an obscure set), number to be done, quality of the work for each model, colour scheme or theme, and anything else that you can think of that would be helpful.
Levels of Quality
All prices include assembly, priming, and basic basing (rocky sand flock or grass). All prices are subject to negotiation and change (unusual amount of detail might increase the cost, smaller than usual model may decrease the cost, etc.)
Tabletop Standard
This uses a minimum of 3 colours in the colour scheme. There will be flat colouring and minimal use of washes and highlighting. This standard is recommended for grunts and basic troops for an army or large collection.
Detailed Standard
This standard brings a little more pazazz to the models. There will be highlighting, some weathering, and shading. More things will put into the models to have them stand out more in both "wow factor" and quality of painting. This standard is recommended for the special groups of models in an army or collection.
Display Quality
This is the highest quality painting we offer. There will be highlighting, weathering, shading, blending, and other awesome sounding techniques. We will discuss how the model will look in terms of composition and discuss any custom made modifications needed. This standard is recommended for army generals and center piece models.
Terms and Conditions
Applicable Law
This agreement shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, and the laws of Canada applicable therein and shall be treated in all respects as a binding contract for the supply of goods and services.
Limitation of Liability
StaticGrass Creations shall not be held liable for any damages or loss of the model(s) while they are in our care. In any such event, StaticGrass Creation's liability shall be limited to a refund of the retail value of the model(s) only. No other guarantee, expressed or implied, is offered.
Price
The price list is intended as a guide only. Some prices will vary depending on size and complexity of the model. Pricing to be discussed and agreed upon on a model-by-model basis before work is to begin.
Payment
Full payment must be received before model(s) are returned to the owner. If payment is not made within 60 days of completion, and no arrangements have been made for payment, the owner shall relinquish all claims to the model(s) and the model(s) becomes the property of StaticGrass Creations.
Shipping and Handling
StaticGrass Creations shall not be liable for any damages or loss caused to the model(s) or otherwise suffered by the Owner as a result of the shipping and handling of the model(s) by StaticGrass Creations or any of its agents or employees, or by the courier responsible for shipping the model(s) to and from StaticGrass Creations, and the Owner shall be liable for all costs and other expenses incurred by StaticGrass Creations in the shipping and handling of the model(s).
We send all items through Canada Post's Regular Parcel (Domestic), Tracked Packet International (Worldwide), Tracked Packet International (US); any option can be upgraded to Expedited or Xpress Parcels. Please allow for at least 2-4 weeks for your item to get to you (may take a few weeks longer if outside of North America). All shipping options come with a tracking number and are fully insured at no extra cost.
If the total cost of the commission is at least $200 (before shipping), shipping will be free of charge and upgraded to Expedited. This offer extends to US and Canadian purchases, shipping will subsidized to a flat fee for commissions over $200 outside North America.
If ever we make a mistake in our shipping costs, which causes the buyer to overpay, we will send back the difference via Paypal.

StaticGrass Creations retains all right, title and interest in and to all patents, trade-marks, copyrights and intellectual property rights in any model(s) created and/or painted for the Owner under this agreement. It is agreed that any model(s) painted by StaticGrass Creations will not be entered into any contests or competitions without notifying or crediting StaticGrass Creations.
